This month we paid for 3 dogs and 4 cats neuter/spay at the Charles City County Animal Shelter! Getting shelter cats and dogs spayed/neutured before adoption helps adopters, and ensures the animals are not bred!

Autumn fashion show featuring Angelo! 🍂
2012 we rescued Angelo from the Charles City County Shelter. He was an adult, mucho love bug..but he sprayed. His adoption prospects were slim to none because of his spraying. Because he is such a love bug, we rescued him knowing his being outside would be perfect for him. He can spray wherever he wants to Outside and in Kitty City! Angelo gets the occasional visit inside the main house, hence this fashion photo op while I was decorating the house for fall. 🍁 ... See MoreSee Less

Memories💕 2012. We love all our furry family, but there are always the favorites.
🐕 We adopted Kramer from Richmond SPCA in 2011 before we knew we would become a rescue. He was at the SPCA for 2 years becoming extremely fearful and kennel aggression. So of course no one wanted to adopt him. I worked nearby, so for 6 months every lunch hour I came to sit, walk and re-introduce him to life. The office where I worked closed so I could not come every day. BUT I was not going to leave him there. So I adopted him and brought him here. 🥰 I will always remember the 1st day. When he came out of the car the peace and quiet immediately calmed him and he knew he was safe. He turned out to be a loving, fabulous boy. Sadly he passed 6 years later, but I know he is still watching over us.
- 😺 Pudge is still with us! We fostered him as a kitten in 2010 but he was never adopted. So, he became a house kitty and never lets anyone sitting down in the living room have an empty lap. He has always been a bit chubby, so his name is perfect! ... See MoreSee Less

Ginny, our newest senior rescue from the Charles City County Shelter!😻 Ginny arrived at the County Shelter in Sept. 2020 as a relinquish. While at the Shelter, she was diagnosed with Stomatits (gum disease). To help slow the progression of the disease, 7 teeth were removed. We sponsored all of her medical care while she was at the Shelter. She eats great now, and is periodically given a steroid.

The last few weeks when I work I try spending a little time with him. I gained his trust and now he comes to me. He is awesome! Any bird lovers looking for a cool Conure?!🦜 ... See MoreSee Less
