Ginny loving the sunshine and 58 degree weather! Feels good on her senior bones, and mine to!๐Ÿค—
We rescued senior Ginny from the Charles City Shelter in October 2019. She had multiple large growths on her belly and needed dental care. Thanks to your donations the growths were removed, rotten teeth removed and spayed. Due to the amount of time she was under anesthesia, there is one small growth left. We are monitoring it, and if needed it will be removed at a later date.

I have to chuckle to myself when someone tells me they have to do their laundry for the week. ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜ Every Day we do a load of washing cat and dog bedding, linens, blankets and towels for our Sanctuary. Our washer and dryer works 24/7! We love Persil laundry detergent! ... See MoreSee Less

I like your subtle way of asking for donations. I hear you. I will get Persil in my next shopping round. ♥๏ธ u Annette Roberts!!!

At our vet with the girl we suspect was dumped at the edge of our property on 1/12/19.
๐Ÿ• Our Sanctuary is cat and dog Free Roamer based. Whoever dumped her...shame on you for putting her in danger. Our dogs protect our cats from any unknown intruders. But!! ๐Ÿค— this girl is cat and dog friendly and our crew sensed that and let her come onto our property.
๐Ÿ• She has scabs on her nose probably from foraging for food. Neosporin will fix that! She also got her rabies vaccination; Dx4 tested and all negative! Stool tested and all negative! She is scheduled to be spayed next week.
We believe she is an Akita mix. So we named her Kiko. Japanese name for "chronicle child".
๐Ÿ• Kiko is approximately 8 months old , compact 48lb, and available for adoption.! If interested, email us at catdogheaven1@gmail.com! Adoption fee $50

So sweet!!! How big is she currently??

She is adorable! Hopefully she finds a good home!

Aww she's so sweet!

Karen Wiscott knows we have 3 puppies which means constant chewing. She gave the pups a bag full of teething items plus containerS of cat litter. Belvia West wants to keep our animals warm so she gave blankets, heated pad, and food and supplies. Our animals are blessed to have these loyal, generous friends. ... See MoreSee Less

Update: When this girl appeared at the front of our property, there were also 2 bags of dog food with no note stating was a food donation. I suspected she was discarded, but hoped it was a coincidence . I now believe someone discarded her. ๐Ÿ˜
Luckily when she was roaming our property, she was not aggressive to either our free roamong cats or house dogs. If she was not so amiable, it may have been an otherwise serious situation.
๐ŸˆShe is doing well in our kennel. Will have her checked at the vet on Tuesday, shortly after get her spayed and will then be available for adoption.
๐Ÿ• We have not named her yet. Suggestions? Believe she is an Akita mix.

1/12/19: This beautiful girl appeared on our property (Sandy Point Road) yesterday and clearly was confused where she was, scared and wanted help. Thanks to our dogs, she felt comfortable enough to finally allow me to touch her and take to our kennel.
๐Ÿ• I hope she is just lost and her owner is out there looking for her. Although she has a collar, there is No Identification. ๐Ÿ˜ž
If anyone recognizes this girl, please message us!! By state law we have to hold her for 2 weeks. If no one claims her, she will be available for adoption.

ATOH FANS - please do all that you can to get the word out, and keep telling folks, to put info on collars, tattoo, or more importantly microchip! Cats too!

Does it look like she has recently had flea meds put on the back of her neck?? Or was she out in the rain??

Has she been checked for a chip?

Look at those sweet ears!! ♥๏ธ

She’s cute. I hope her family is out looking for her.!! Shared

Thank you Catโ€™s Pride for the cat litter. Thank you friends for telling Catโ€™s Pride about our sanctuary, which is how we got the litter. Our most senior cats live in the house with Annette and John; those cats need this litter. Catโ€™s Pride gave us enough litter for those โ€œeldstersโ€to last a year!๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ’•. That is wonderful!!

Fabulous!

Fantastic!!

Our mission is to help senior cats and dogs. BUT! sometimes the Charles City County Shelter gets puppies and a municipal county shelter is no place for a puppy.
๐Ÿ• Nugget (bigger puppy) was 4 weeks old when he arrived @ the County Shelter on 11/13/19. He had bite wounds, severe upper respiratory congestion, starving and dehydrated. We immediately got him to the vet, and thanks to your donations he received the medical care he needed and he has blossomed! However he is still having trouble breathing. So back to the vet last week and found a partially developed cleft pallet (birth defect) that needs correction. He is scheduled for surgery Feb.13th to rectify and then he will be ready for adoption. We believe he is a Leopard Catahoula!
๐Ÿ• The tiny 5 week old puppy in the video came to the Charles City County Shelter on Jan. 4th with her sibling. Both were brought in by an individual that says they were "found" in a field. The pup in the video is a girl and at our home and we suspect she has an umbilical hernia. She will get checked out by the vet tomorrow, go to one of our fabulous foster homes and when old enough have the hernia rectified. Picture of her sibling (boy) is already at another of our fabulous foster homes! The two 5 week puppies are too young for their physical features to have fully developed to guess their breed characteristics. Right now, they are both a ball of puppy fluff! NOTE: These 2 little pups will not be available for adoption until after they are fully vetted which will be around the end of February.

Beau now comes into the house every day! He comes in, takes a nap on his comfy bed, stays in for awhile then wants to go back outside. Here he is just waking up with Nugget saying howdy!
